Furthering Our First-Aid Knowledge

November 25, 2024

A heartfelt thanks to our colleagues Kirsten Corp, Jim Coles, Arthur Campbell for leading another invaluable series of first aid workshops. This time they were dedicated to Seizure and Recovery in recognition of Epilepsy Awareness Month

Across 11 sessions, colleagues learned about various types of seizures - focal, tonic-clonic, absence, myoclonic, tonic, and atonic - and practised hands-on first aid training for tonic-clonic and absence seizures. We also explored the C.A.R.E (Calm, Alert, Reassure, Emergency) method, equipping everyone with the confidence and clarity needed to respond effectively in an emergency.

These sessions were an important reminder of how crucial it is to be prepared. Should the unexpected happen, we have the skills to act quickly, provide support, and make sure everyone is safe. Huge thank you to the team for making this such an informative learning experience.
