THG joins The British Beauty Council as Patrons

We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the British Beauty Council. Our extensive expertise in product development and cosmetics manufacturing has positioned us as a key player in the industry and we are excited about working alongside other Patrons to support the British Beauty Council's strategic initiatives and champion meaningful change.

June 4, 2024

4th June 2024: THG Plc, the vertically integrated, digital first consumer brands group is pleased to announce its partnership with the British Beauty Council, a not-for-profit industry-wide organisation committed to solving industry challenges and engaging the sector to raise the reputation of the beauty industry.

THG’s own beauty brands LOOKFANTASTIC and Cult Beauty alongside its end-to-end UK cosmetics manufacturer, THG LABS; its complete commerce solution, THG Ingenuity and its sustainability solutions provider, THG Eco form the partnership to provide a breadth of experience across the sector.

Over the course of the patronage, the British Beauty Council and THG will activate initiatives to impact positive change across the beauty industry, with projects centred around improving sustainability, DEIA,[RK1]  education and driving long-term growth.

In its first action as British Beauty Council patrons, the #1 online pure-play prestige beauty retailer LOOKFANTASTIC – owned by THG – launched its ‘What the SPF?!’ campaign which advocates for SPF as a daily skincare essential exempt from taxation. Striving to change attitudes towards sun and skin health, the campaign sees LOOKFANTASTIC offer a 20% reduction across its core SPF30+ face and body products, aiming to make SPF products more accessible and affordable for consumers.

Lucy Gorman, CEO, THG Beauty said: “We are excited to partner with the British Beauty Council. With our portfolio of prestige beauty brands and our wide-reaching expertise in the industry, we are firmly embedded in the sector and committed to supporting the British Beauty Council in maximising the impact of their strategic initiatives.”

Millie Kendall O.B.E., CEO of British Beauty Council, says: “We are delighted to welcome THG as Patrons. The Group’s wide reach will undoubtedly aid in propelling the Council’s industry-defining initiatives that affect thousands of people daily. Its influence in beauty manufacturing, sustainability and ecommerce will enable the Council to engage with various areas of business and, alongside its other Patrons, continue its work as a leader in legislative change for the sector.”
